Troubleshooting Video Playback Issues

If you have issues watching video on Hudl.com, it may be because Silverlight is not updated to the proper version or is corrupt. You may run into the following issues:

  • White screen where the video is supposed to be playing.
  • Get an error message, such as “We’re sorry, Hudl needs to refresh your browser.”

Follow these steps:

Uninstall Silverlight

On a PC

  1. Close out of all internet browsers
  2. Click your computer’s Start Menu
  3. Click Control Panel
  4. Go to Add or Remove Programs
  5. Scroll to find Microsoft Silverlight
  6. Click on Microsoft Silverlight and then click Uninstall

On a Mac

  1. Close out of all internet browsers
  2. Double click on the hard drive icon on your desktop
  3. Navigate to your Internet Plug-Ins: /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
  4. Drag Silverlight.plugin into your trash bin
  5. Drag WPFe.plugin into the trash bin if you see it in your Plug-Ins folder
  6. Empty your trash bin

Reinstall Silverlight

  1. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight
  2. Click Install to get Silverlight back onto your machine
