Angela's Flow

Alt textAngela Wickard does it all. Coming from a small town in western Nebraska, she didn’t have much of a choice but to get involved in everything. From drama to music to sports, the girl has knowledge on just about every extra-curricular activity, including rugby! And when she isn’t busy playing sports or doing culture things, she pretends to rap. We have yet to witness one her attempts, but we trust that when the time comes, she’ll crush it.

“I’m from Bridgeport, Neb., a town way out on the western end of the state. Growing up, you could most likely find me getting sunburnt at the pool or lake. I lived in my swimming suit; I’d have swim team practice early in the morning, then bike back to another pool to hang out with friends. When I got to high school, I realized I wasn’t great at swimming fast, so I settled for being a lifeguard in the summer and filled the school year with volleyball, track and field, band, choir, show choir - the list goes on and on.

“After high school, I followed my older sister and brother to Lincoln and the University of Nebraska. I studied hospitality, restaurant and tourism management. While I loved what I learned and had all intentions of looking for a job in the hospitality industry, my passion for sports and finding a job that catered to that ultimately won. I always liked sports, but I didn’t have a passion for them until I joined and ran the UNL women’s rugby team.

“When it came time to graduate, I looked for jobs where I could work with people and sports. I found Hudl and have been enjoying my time in coach relations for the last nine months. I also work in sales, spending three days a week reaching out to coaches from North Dakota and South Dakota, showing them how Hudl can help their teams dominate. While my three days in sales are exciting and new, I still have the opportunity to support coaches from all over the world on the other two days. On Tuesday, I chatted with two coaches from Germany. How cool is that?”

If you had $1,000 to spend at one store in one trip, which store would you choose?
Can it be an online store? My choice would be Backcountry.com. I want to complete my ski gear collection, and that would definitely help me get some new boots!

What’s your favorite song to sing out loud? Like, really loud.
“Thrift Shop” by Macklemore, because sometimes I like to think I can rap.

What place would you never be caught dead in?
I really can’t think of a place. Maybe an alligator-infested swamp?

If you could have any animal as a best friend, what would it be?
A squirrel because they are so freaking cool. I would name it Puffy and probably end up calling it Puff Daddy.

Do you overdress or underdress?
I work at Hudl. My wardrobe consists of t-shirts and sweats. It doesn’t really allow for me to overdress! I have nicer clothes for a night on the town or a social event, but they aren’t worn very often. I’m definitely not an overdresser.
