Hudl's Hitting the Hardwood

If you assume summer marks the end of basketball, you couldn’t be more wrong.

The Hudl office is just getting ramped up for one of our most exciting developments in company history: New Hudl for Basketball. If you attended any of our Hudl Up Tour stops, you may have seen a sneak peek of what’s coming down the pipe, and hopefully you are as excited as everyone here.

To get everyone else pumped, we’re going to hit you with a lot of basketball material over the coming months.

Tomorrow, Kyle Murphy, our VP-User Experience and a truly talented basketball player, will start a blog series titled “Five Reasons You Should be Pumped for Hudl Basketball,” previewing the ‘silky smooth’ new basketball product that will eliminate the headache of five-minute clips and make it easier than ever to search and scrub to any shot, run or segment in the game. It is going to be awesome, but that’s all the further we’re going into detail here. We’ll let experts like Murph explain more as we move through the summer.

In the meantime, the rest of us will get as close to basketball glory as possible. We figure that calls for a company-wide 3-on-3 tournament taking place next Tuesday right outside of our office in downtown Lincoln. Some of the teams entered thus far are the Sticky Bandits, Bus Drivers, and Newbs. If that doesn’t get you excited for some awful basketball with limited defense and laziness, nothing will. We will try to post a few of our best (and worst) plays from the day-long event next week, but be sure to follow the shenanigans on Twitter with our hashtag #HudlHoops.

This is all big news. It’s affecting everyone a little differently and there have been some odd instances of basketball craziness around the office. Luckily, our producers have been able to catch a few on camera. For your viewing pleasure, we’ll post a handful from now until it’s time to hit the pavement next week. You can check out the first below – we promise no real tears were shed on defense.
