Slow Clap for Matt

Hudl Matt Munger

Matt Munger hasn’t been at Hudl too long - about six months, if we’re getting specific - but he’s already making waves with all things football. That makes him pretty great in our book.

The high-quality work he produces is cranked out at a pace most likely set by Daft Punk. Rumor has it the duo is featured as his computer’s wallpaper. But as an upbeat group of people, we pass no judgment.

Rumor also has it that he’s one of the youngest software engineers here, if not the actual baby.

Mind. Blown.

“I was born and raised on 70th Street in Lincoln, Neb. (literally, born at St. Elizabeth’s, family homes and schools were between 70th and 84th). As a kid I enjoyed nerding out with anything space or LEGO related, which would explain my dream job transition from astronaut to engineer.

“When it came time to go to college, I decided to push my boundaries and traveled miles away to the University of Nebraska, where I was a student in the Raikes School (which boasts such famous alumni as John Wirtz, Brian Kaiser and David Graff). I graduated with a computer engineering degree last December, and started working at Hudl just a couple weeks later as a software engineer on the football squad.”

What great discovery or invention would make you the happiest person in the world? A washer-dryer combo that folds laundry for you. (I’ve resolved to hanging all of my clothes due to my complete inability to avoid wrinkles).

If you could name a newly discovered dinosaur, what name would you come up with? I’d give proper credit to the Philosoraptor.

List five life goals.

  1. Dress as every Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle for Halloween. I’m halfway there, but haven’t made any progress since 1996.
  2. Be on the Amazing Race with my older sister and subsequently fight with her on national television, proving once and for all that I am right and she is wrong.
  3. Wear Google Glass AND look cool at the same time. I’m convinced that it can be done.
  4. Successfully start a slow clap.
  5. Do a barrel roll!

Are you an early bird or a night owl? Is there such thing as a midday falcon? I like waking up at 8ish and falling asleep at midnight. Maybe that just makes me old.

Describe Hudl as a company in ten words or less. I’ll one-up you and give you a haiku: Fun athletic nerds Make for never a dull hour Refrigerator

Pertaining to personal phone calls, how do you feel about the concept of voicemail? No. Editor’s note.
