Is Your Computer Ready for the Season?

Old Computer

Having the right computer can make or break your Hudl experience. Making sure your computer is up to par is the best way to make things run smooth after your games on Friday. As always, give Hudl support a call (402.817.0060) or email (support@hudl.com) if something doesn’t seem right while you’re uploading your video.

You’ll be able to watch video on any computer with an internet connection. The specs really matter when it comes to your video upload.

Whether you’re in the market for a new computer or just need to make sure yours is good to go, we’ve got you covered.

For Your PC

Minimum Specs

These are the minimum requirements for using the Hudl Video Editor. If your computer meets these specs, you’ll be able to use the Hudl Video Editor, but your publish time may still be doubled.

  • Processor: Intel Core 2 duo
  • Operating System: Windows XP Service Pack 3, Vista, or 7
  • RAM: 2GB
  • Hard drive space: At least 160 GB Hard Drive

Buying a New Computer

If you are buying a new computer, the following are the minimum specs we recommend for a great Hudl experience.

  • Processor: Intel i3
  • Operating System: Windows 7
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Hard drive space: At least 500 GB

Looking for a powerful machine?

Some teams want a recommendation for a top-of-the-line computer. Using the below specs, we’ve seen some teams get publishing time for two angles of video down to around 30 minutes.

  • Processor: Intel Quad Core, i5, or i7
  • Operating System: Windows 7
  • RAM: At least 6+GB
  • Hard drive space: At least 500 GB

You’ve always been able to watch video on your Mac on Hudl.com, but now you can use your Mac for the uploading process as well.

Minimum Specs

  • Processor: Intel based
  • Operating System: Must be able to run Snow Leopard (you’ll need Lion or Mountain Lion to upload video)
  • RAM: 2GB

Any new Mac will come with the right specs to use Mercury for Mac, so that should help take the guesswork out of purchasing a new Mac.

  • Processor: Intel Core 2 duo
  • Operating System: Lion or Mountain Lion
  • RAM: 2GB
  • Hard drive space: At least 160 GB
