Ryan, Ventura have first chat since ’93 brawl.
On Aug. 4, 1993 Nolan Ryan drilled Robin Ventura with a fastball in the back. What ensued was a bench-clearing brawl highlighted by Ryan putting Ventura in a head lock and landing numerous punches. It’s an iconic scene and reminded everyone that even at age 46 Ryan shouldn’t be messed with. Ryan, now CEO of the Texas Rangers, and new Chicago White Sox manager Ventura spoke for the first time since the brawl on Friday and both said they don’t hold any grudges after the 19 years.
“Whenever the video is shown at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, it gets huge cheers. Ryan said Thursday that the photo of him punching Ventura is one of the top three items he’s asked to sign by fans.”
Is marketing stealing the show at Fenway’s 100th birthday?
Fenway Park turns 100 this year, but I’m sure you didn’t hear it here first. While the Red Sox Marketers are preparing a year’s worth of promotion, Fenway faithfuls are worried the nostalgic venue is slowly losing its charm.
The Fenway “experience” that came by default with the price of admission now feels like an embedded surcharge on the high price of tickets.
10 seconds to unload a 12-pack of soda …Go.
We offer free pop/soda/Coke to our employees, so we end up ordering 12-packs on pallets. Unloading a single 12-pack into our refrigerator used to be a slow, painful process. When we saw this video showing us how to unload a 12-pack in a matter of seconds, our minds were absolutely blown. It’s a game-changer, folks.
“If you buy a lot of soda, you know how annoying and time consuming it can be to unload cans one by one into your fridge. Here’s a trick that’ll let you fill the fridge in seconds.”
Don’t worry, it’s street legal.
For anyone with an extra $279,000 lying around, make sure to get your pilot’s license in the next year. Terragugia Inc., showed off its Transition at the New York auto show. The “flying car” has passed all the federal motor safety standards and is set to be released by the end of 2013.
You can run, but if you’re ridiculously good looking, you can’t hide.

If you’ve ever clicked through the pictures taken along the way during a race, you know they usually don’t capture your best side. During a 10k in Charleston S.C., Zeddie Little flashed a smile uncharacteristic of long-distance pain and suffering. It didn’t take long for his face to became a viral sensation.comments powered by Disqus
